Tiny Tunes Company History

Hi!  I'm "Tiny".  I founded Tiny Tunes in 1991, with a mission to out-do the competition in the Des Moines market.

 

Our goal was to change the way the Mobile DJ’s operated in everyway, starting with our "unlimited time" package (as opposed to 4 or 5 hours, and then charging overtime). We show up to do the whole party from start to finish, not interrupting the bride or Groom to say “Hey we’re done.  If you want more time, it’s another $150.00.  Thanks”, with a silly smile on our face. 

 

We pioneered the "unlimited time" package.  We play background music as guests arrive, dinner music through dinner and dance music until the party is over.

Customer Focused

Next, we took the focus off the DJ “ego”.  You know...  it's that "we are the professional we know what you need" and "it's OUR show" attitude. 

 

Our "Bride-and-Groom-focused wedding planning" grew out of this, with the development of a reception planner and pre-event consultation. Using our reception planner brings out likes and dislikes, styles of music, specific special songs and the overall desired "feel" of the event. Moving into a one hour consultation, we utilize the reception planner as a foundation to create an individualized production for each and every wedding reception or event. 

Professional, experienced DJ's

Then we brought the highest standards to what is a wedding DJ, someone with experience at DJing weddings. We wanted to get beyond the "radio personality" that had never provided wedding entertainment or the "Cool-guy Club DJ" with only club experience.  Mentoring DJ’s was the answer.  A DJ new to Tiny Tunes, goes out with an experienced Wedding professional for several months, until they can reproduce exactly the same type of show. Only then are they on their own.

With all these in ideals place, we gained experience and earned respect from the wedding industry professionals around Des Moines. Sixteen years in the business later we are still at the top of referral lists from many of the areas most respected and sought after venues, photographers, florists, decorators and wedding coordinators.
